Oh no, ive been falling quite behind on my posts!
Mornings are always very early and very busy. While walking to catch a taxi we saw this lil stand selling sandwiches.
Its amazing to see how little attention ppl pay towards food safety, esp in the heat that we have here.Needless to say i didn't dare try any of that (although i heard its tasty).
For the retreat we all met up at the school where there were vans to take us. The place is 4 hours away from where we lived. Each van was split up into grades so that grade 5 Thai teachers would be with grade 5 foreign teachers. My group consisted of 7 members (5 thai, Alyssa and i). En route to the destination we were given activities that we needed to complete. Some of the activities we had to do was goto a certain place, take a picture to check in, or buy certain things, as well as make a song that incorporates all of our names. We were lucky that all of our Thai teachers were very nice and spoke some English. The resort was SUPER nice! Way nicer than anything you could find for $60/night cdn!!!

We didnt get too much down time, after arrival we met up at the conference room where we had our meet and greet with the director. It was really neat bc the event felt like a ceremony. Thai admins lined up and kneeled and all the teachers line up facing them and we each were given a bracelet that symbolized happiness
After the bracelets giving bgan our 4 hours of 'actvities'. I think by the end of the 4 hours my butt got flatter!

Dinner was buffet style, but was only ok. i really enjoyed the fresh fruits and the refreshing Thai beer. Id compare it to Coors light or any other light beers
We were all very exhausted by the end of dinner we were all passed out by 10pm! The pattern so far in Thailand is sleep early and wake up early (5am!)
Haha "butt got flater"
ReplyDeleteSo jealous of your tropical environment.
I think I will go for a swim this weekend in an indoor pool and dream of being in Thailand!
Keep updating. Looks super fun!
